After World War 1 ended, four leaders of the countries of U.S. (President Woodrow wilson), Britain (Prime minister David Lloyd George), France (Premier Georges Clemenceau) and Italy (Premier Vittorio Orlando) reunited in Paris in January 18, 1919 with the attendance of 32 countries to sign an armistice (a treaty) between the Allies and Germany so that Germany payed for reparations of the damages they made in the Great War.

The League of Nations was an international organization, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, created after the First World War to provide a forum for resolving international disputes. It was first proposed by President Woodrow Wilson as part of his Fourteen Points plan for an equitable peace in Europe, but the United States was never a member. The terms of the Treaty of Versailles were harsh and not for negotiation. Germany lost 13 percent of her territory, which meant 12 per cent of Germans now lived in a foreign country, and Germany’s colonial possessions were redistributed among the other colonial powers. Militarily, Germany’s army was to be limited to a token 100,000 men, and its navy to 15,000, plus a ban on conscription. Germany was not permitted to have an air force, nor tanks, and was prohibited from producing or importing weaponry.

~~~~~~~ARTIFACT~~~~~~~~
ARTIFACT: This picture shown above was the Nazi Platform was made shortly after the Germans were defeated
in World War I. And they were forced to sign the Versailles Peace Treaty which left the country financially and militarily destructed. The Nazi Party was a very small, unpopular party and in 1919, Hitler joined the party and in 1921 became its leader. This platform was important for the Nazi's because it contains many of the Nazi political objectives which were to be realized when Hitler and the Nazi Party took control of Germany on January 30, 1933. So basically this was made by Hitler to state the rights and priorities of "pure" Germans. This tells us that the main importance of this was a "promise" of Hitler to the Germans that he would re-establish and help Germany come to power again.
~Opinion Paragraph~
In the early 1930s, the mood in Germany was fierce. The worldwide economic depression hit the country hard, and millions of people were out of work. Still fresh in the minds of many was Germany's humiliating defeat fifteen years earlier during World War I, and Germans lacked confidence in their weak government, known as the Weimar Republic. This provided the chance for the rise of a new leader Adolf Hitler, and his party "The Nazi Party". He promised a better life and a new and glorious Germany to the Germans. So with his great persuasion and speaking skills, he dominated the people of Germany and was successfully supported by them. In 1920, he created the list of 25 points that basically states the rights and privileges of "German blood" as a requirement for German citizenship and that no Jew can be a member of the nation. It also talked about the abolition of the Treaty Of Versailles because they knew that because of it, they would need to pay back for the damage they made. So the Nazi platform was a successful idea for the Nazis but in general was a destruction to the cultural race of the Jews and was an inhuman act and violent discrimination against them, so I disapprove of the Nazi Platform. Like I said, this artifact I have showed you, demonstrates the support of Hitler to all 'only German blood citizens' and rejection of the Treaty Of Versailles. This proves my thesis because it shows inhumane acts towards another culture and it was only beneficial to the Nazis. Connecting to my substandard essential question, this is how the Treaty Of Versailles impacted the future politics of the world after Hitler came to power.
